Storms at the beach

As I rest in my apartment after a 10-day trip to Myrtle Beach with some close friends, I find myself locked out of my work email and timesheet program.
So much for getting back in the groove.
Anyway, here are some cool pictures of a storm that moved through while we were down there — but didn’t ruin our vacation.

Very cool!!! I am guessing these clouds were associated with a brief heavy downpour??? Mammatus clouds are generally always associated with heavy rain.
Mammatus clouds are also known as mammatocumulus, meaning “Mammary cloud” or “Breast cloud”is a meteorological term applied to a cellular pattern of pouches hanging underneath the base of a cloud. The name “mammatus” is derived from the Latin mamma (udder or breast), due to the clouds’ characteristic shape, as some believe there is a resemblance between the shape of these clouds and the breast of a woman.
