Last week I went to the John Legend Concert at the zoo.  I really wasn’t a John Legend fan, but I love seeing shows at the zoo.  I have to say, after seeing the concert I am now a fan of John legend.  I really only knew two of his songs when I bought the tickets.  But the day after the concert I downloaded two of his albums.  

Then on Sunday I was one of a thousand people at Owen’s Community College to see American Idol winner David Cook.  The opener for the show was a band called Green River Ordinance.  They are an up and coming band from Texas, but put on an excellent show.  One of their songs was actually featured on So You Think You Can Dance every week during the elimination shows this season.  And yes, I have now added their songs to my ipod. 

It was refreshing to go to concerts and discover new artists and music.  In the past I have gone to shows only of bands that I knew  I would recommend it sometime….buy tickets to a concert, even if you are not that familiar with the artist, you may get lucky and expand your play list.
