Bun in the Oven…

Well, I think it’s about time that I make sure everyone knows I have not been loading up on ho-hos…. my growing belly is baby #2. I am 15 weeks along this week, but still feeling pretty green. Every time I think I’m out of the woods, that nausea/exhaustion just kicks right back in. I don’t remember being sick after 16 weeks with my first child, so hopefully I only feel miserable for just a little longer.

Letting “the secret” out is always a little scary for me. We miscarried our very first pregnancy, so I was a wreck when I was pregnant with our daughter, and I worry about this one a lot too. I do feel like going through a loss like that has made me appreciate the miracle of life/birth even more though… that everything has to be just right to produce the perfect little “peanut” :) you get at the end. It also has given me a lot of compassion and understanding for the many friends and family members that have had to go through that same loss or even worse.

Anyway, it’s funny to me that I’m getting the same questions I did with my daughter, like, “Are you going to find out the gender?” My husband and I chose not to find out with her, and some people would act so angry with us for that decision! I’m happy that we made that decision, but this time Nick wants to find out. I’m afraid finding out will just drag the pregnancy out. Not knowing the gender made the labor day exciting for me to look forward to… to FINALLY know, girl or boy? I’m afraid if I know this time, it will take just a little bit of that extra incentive away. Strange?

What do you think? Did you find out for your children? Why/Why not? Or if no kids yet, will you find out?

Yes!! We will defiantly find out…or at least WE would find out and not tell anyone else so we could see what everyone THINKS it will be. I love when grandmother’s have that way of ‘knowing’ what you’re going to have just by how your ankles look or how low your belly is. LOL. I prefer to plan accordingly with everything in life so this is no surprise to my husband. At least he agrees on this topic… I am sure us as future parents these times will be harder to come by. Congrats again Kristi!
