Ecstatic! Excited! Elated! There just are not enough positive words in the English dictionary to describe how happy I am to be the new Face of FOX Toledo!!!! I have my ultimate dream job for the next year in the wonderful city of Toledo…it is so amazingly surreal! Since I found out that I am the new face, I just keep thinking of the most cheesy movie lines in history: one in particular is the final scene of the original Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory when Mr. Wonka says to Charlie Bucket, “Don’t forget what happened to the man who suddenly got everything he always wanted […] he lived happily ever after.” And then they fly up and away in the great glass elevator…so cheesy, I know, but I’m so happy that I feel like Charlie Bucket (glass elevator…Glass City…see there’s a sort of similarity).
I am also so lucky to have Julia Johnston as my predecessor! Not only is she an amazing Face, but her warm and welcoming personality has made such a positive impression on Toledo; when people hear “Face of FOX Toledo,” they immediately think of the pleasure they have had seeing and working with Julia and the station. Thank you Julia for setting the stage, and I promise to continue the positive vibe with my great enthusiasm for this job!
I can’t wait to sink my teeth into everything Toledo, and I am excited to apply my background in broadcast and love for television to the position! I love everything about this job, I am so thankful to have this wonderful opportunity, and I will do anything to be the best Face of FOX Toledo that I can possibly be!
I hate to see that Toledo is constantly being represented by blond hair white women, when Toledo is made up of many cultures and so many ethnic groups. When this station was just getting off the ground 20 some odd years ago, your programing was geared towards the African American demorgraphic. So I belive that your “Face of Fox Toledo” should resemble those who make up your biggest and loyal viewing audience and not just blond hair and blue eyes. We need to be more responsible to our younger viewing staff and the messages that we send out!

Just to let you know Carol, from what I was had heard, the “Face of FOX Toledo” was voted by the viewers. The viewers thought that Ashley should be the new face of FOX Toledo. So, before you go judgeing, maybe you should get the facts first. Maybe she was the best candidate for the job, no matter what color her eyes, hair or color of her skin were. Maybe it IS an African American demorgraphic, but I guess they must have voted for her, because they LIKED her and I guess they felt that SHE was the TRUE Toledo! If you aren’t happy with this years face, make sure to vote next year. Leave the poor girl alone, I’m sure that she will do a great job. Congratulations Ashley and just remember, you can’t please all the people all of the time.

Welcome…..Welcome…Welcome!! I happen to totally adore white, blonde hair, blue eyed woman!! They ROCK!!….Seriously though, Don’t get discouraged by some of the negative sh*t that floats around… It’s the Internet. It’s rampant with negative, angry, hostel people (commonly known as haters/trolls)….And Toledo?..Though a GREAT city with TONS of potential,…Some of the people can be…..no need to go there. You get my point….You’re Doing a great Job!! Keep it up!
