Treating an eye injury
I’m as guilty as anyone about this. When my eyes are working fine, I take them for granted.
Then yesterday, I had a little run-in with the metal doors on my fireplace. I tugged, the door was stuck. It let loose and a sharp, metal corner got my right eye. Ooooooowwwwwwwwwwwww!
The surface of that eye is now trying to heal, much like when you scrape the skin on your arm. For the first time in my life I have a contact lens in my eye. I keep hoping no one can see redness on air. It actually doesn’t look too bad. Mostly it just feels bad if I don’t have the lens in to protect it. Thanks, doc, for getting me in in a hurry.
The doctor told me our eyes grow new cells fairly quickly, so with luck it won’t take much time to heal.
Until then, I am not taking my eyesight for granted. And I won’t bend down next time when tugging to open the fireplace door.
Here’s wishing you an uninjured Christmas.
