Ah, Toledo…
I love taking pictures around our city. Last night, I spent about a little over an hour on the MLK Bridge snapping away. Here’s one of my favorite shots:

I had the chance to watch the elephants parade, tail-in-trunk, back to the circus train near downtown Toledo last weekend.
And, for some reason, all I could think of was this…
At the silo fire a while back, we were told to expect a collapse. The folks down at Pier 75 were nice enough to let me camp out with a pretty cool vantage point in the event that happened…

The camera had to be low to shoot under the bridge effectively. Of course, the collapse never happened and I walked away without any video and, instead, an awful allergy attack thanks to my proximity to some of that awful ragweed.
Oh, and my fire chief grabbed this picture of me from Rossford’s Marine 1. Don’t I look thrilled?

Another photo from the Toledo Lucas County Public Library Images in Time collection. It’s all online. Search for yourself:

It’s addicting, especially if you’re from the Toledo area…

He belongs to my parents, but my friends all try to kidnap him.

I was thisclose to Vice President Joe Biden today. One of the interesting parts of the job, there’s no doubt there.
Thanks to Michael Melchiorre — photographer from NBC24 — who grabbed this frame off the video shot by NBC24 reporter Chance Walser.

My sister Cierra’s a corpsman in the Navy. She was in town for about a week and this was the one nice picture we were able to capture of my brother, Dan, her and me.
She’s back in Okinawa, Japan now — hopefully she’ll be stateside next so we can actually go visit her. I have no idea why our parents won’t foot the bill for a trip to Japan… haha!
One plane crash today led to two different boat rides for me. Here are some photos I snapped on our downtime (which, for the record, wasn’t a whole lot…).

I’m hoping it’s not cloudy tonight (“partly” is what the National Weather Service is predicting) so I can check out the Perseid meteor shower.
The trick’ll be finding a nice open spot to watch from.
After spending 60+ hours at the Wood County fair in the past week, I can say I was pretty surprised at how clear the sky was just outside the fairgrounds, despite the light pollution from Bowling Green.
Still, I’m thinking it’ll be worth finding an even better location tonight — any suggestions?

This is a photo I snapped from Findlay’s three-alarm fire last weekend.
