Hard Work Pays Off

I always tell my little sister, hard work pays off. This past week her teacher gave her a certificate for perfect attendance. Also she called me and told me she did really well on her interim report card. Since my little sister is doing well in school I decided to treat her to a movie. On Saturday we went to see Beauty And The Beast in 3D. I think I was more excited than she was, but instead of the two of us going to the library to study, I told her since she’s doing well in school she deserves a treat. If you have time I think it’s important tojoin an organization like Big Brothers Big Sisters. It always makes me feel good to know I can put a smile on my little sisters face.

New Year’s Eve

Have a safe and Happy New Year everyone. Usually every New Year’s Eve instead of partying, my mother throws a PJ party for my entire family. About 20 of us stay inside her house and welcome the New Year together. When the clock strikes midnight we all gather in a circle and say a prayer thanking God for allowing us to see another year. Some people may think that’s boring but it isn’t especially when I see my mother, my sister, my brother, my nieces and nephews, my uncles, aunts, and cousins. My mother’s house is packed with people as I’m writing this. Even though I wont be with them physically this year, I will be with them in spirit. And I’m not worried because I’m only a phone call away. .. Take care guys see you in 2012

A little scripture such as this means so much to me. Sometimes I wonder with all the work I do; volunteering, working 2 jobs, mentoring, and putting others before me, how come I’m not seeing any extra earnings in return. But I realize with this scripture it’s not about ME, it’s about what God wants ME to do. I believe my reward will come eventually, when? I have no idea. I am reminded that Sarah (Abraham’s wife) gave birth in her 90′s. I hope I don’t have to wait that long haha, but all I can do is continue to let God use me to show others how powerful He is.

Winter

I am not looking forward to this winter. I love the heat. I am able to do more in the heat. Now I have to wear a heavy coat that takes up a lot of space on my desk. I think I need to invent heating clothes. For example a turtleneck heater. This invention will require me to throw a turtleneck in a microwave for about 5 minutes and when I put it on it’s as warm as a winter coat. Do you think that’s a good idea?

Baseball

I love baseball. This is my favorite sport. I love it how it brings people together, and you just never know who’s going to swing and who’s going to get a hit. I really enjoy how players steal bases, and when there’s a home run. This sport is amazing. I’ll give you a clue who my favorite team is in the World Series.. It’s the team who wins tonight. heheh

This week with my little sister

On my spare time I volunteer with Big Brothers Big Sister of Northwest Ohio. Once a week I usually pick up my little sister, Annashae. This week I wanted to take her to the Butterfly House, but it was closed. As we were driving in Whitehouse she spotted a horse park and asked me if we could stop by. When I pulled into the driveway I found out it wasn’t a equestrian park, it was a home and the owners owned a few horses. At first I was afraid to ask the family about their park, but the Williams family was very welcoming and even allowed my little sister to ride on one of their pony’s. She told me she never rode on a horse/pony before and it was the best trip she has ever had. Here are pictures from our Big Brother Big Sister adventure. A big thanks to the Williams family for allowing us into their home.
