I’ve never seen anything like it first hand. The night the tornado hit in Lake Township Sharia Davis and I drove to the scene to get video of the disaster. Hearing about the damage didn’t prepare me for what I saw that night. My mouth dropped, heart sank and I thought to myself if anyone was inside these homes, I don’t know how they could’ve made it. Days later as the community and countless volunteers pick up debris I still feel the way I did that night. It helps you to put your own life and perceived troubles into perspective. Its great to see people come together after something so devastating but I pray that everyone out there will have continued strength in the months and even years ahead.

There are so many things to look forward to when the weather is warmer. People become more active, there are plenty of parties, weddings and other fun things to do. I’m excited about all of the possibilities and trying something new.

I’ve seen so many companies and television shows using social networking to promote their brand and bring in new customers. I’m wondering if facebook, twitter or any other site might charge a fee to use their services, at least for these businesses. Well before they do follow me on twitter. www.twitter.com/tiffanytarpley

On April 25, 2010 I completed my first half marathon in 2:46:26. Actually that time is much better than I thought I would do. I just knew I’d be walking but thankfully with my cousin by my side and praying when things got tough…I toughed it out and didn’t stop my run/jog. Well, I guess I did when I fell but I got back up walked it off a bit and started my jog again. Through all of the ups and downs of training I’m so glad I stuck with it and finished. I will always be able to say I ran 13.1 miles…crazy

The Glass City Marathon is this Sunday. It is here already and I am happy that the anxiety mixed with excitement will be over too. I’ve done all I can do and there is no turning back. On Sunday April 25th I will have completed my first (unless those forecasted thunderstorms cause issues) and probably last half marathon…. Positive thoughts, positive thoughts, positive thoughts, positive thoughts, positive thoughts…

Today I will be jog/walking my last “long run” before the half marathon next week. I can’t believe it’s next week! I am sooooo nervous but after listening to a powerful speech by Neurosurgeon Dr. Ben Carson at the University of Toledo last night, I can’t be afraid to take risks. Here we go…no turning back!

until the half marathon. I look back and think of many things I could’ve done better in my training and hoping its not my downfall on the day of the race. I’m going to stay focused this next 16 days….nothing but water (expect with my protein shakes). Let’s see how this goes.

This year I will be turning 30, yes 30. Wow, I still feel like I’m 22 (lol)…anyway…I’ve always told myself I was going to “do it big” for my 30th and now its just a matter of figuring out exactly what I want to do. Take a trip, have a big party or just have a small gathering with friends. Any ideas? pass them along….it has got to be memorable:)

or is there? It’s official I’ve finally signed up for the Glass City Marathon on April 25th. I’m running the half…or should I say walking/jogging the half LOL!
My cousin and her friend are coming from Detroit to run with me and my sister may join too. It’s strange because I haven’t been training with anyone so I’m not sure how it will be on the day of the race to run with someone. However Allison Brown and I may start training together in the coming weeks.
So here we go….time to get intense and get very serious, there’s about a month left!!!! PRAY FOR ME!!!!!
